C\u2019est une structure en spirale, domin\u00e9e par seulement deux bras enveloppant les extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s d&rsquo;une barre centrale d&rsquo;\u00e9toiles. Les deux bras principaux de la galaxie (Scutum-Centaurus et Pers\u00e9e) peuvent \u00eatre vus attach\u00e9s aux extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s d&rsquo;une barre centrale \u00e9paisse, tandis que les deux bras mineurs maintenant r\u00e9trograd\u00e9s (Norma et Sagittaire) sont moins distincts et situ\u00e9s entre les bras principaux.<br>Les bras principaux sont constitu\u00e9s des plus fortes densit\u00e9s d&rsquo;\u00e9toiles jeunes et anciennes; les bras mineurs sont principalement remplis de gaz et de poches d&rsquo;activit\u00e9 de formation d&rsquo;\u00e9toiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Notre Soleil se trouve pr\u00e8s d&rsquo;un petit bras partiel appel\u00e9 Bras d&rsquo;Orion, ou \u00c9peron d&rsquo;Orion, situ\u00e9 entre les bras du Sagittaire et de Pers\u00e9e. Il est situ\u00e9 \u00e0 27 000 AL du centre de la galaxie. Lentement, notre Soleil nous entra\u00eene vers le centre, destination un trou noir\u2026<br>Tout tourne, dans notre galaxie, et toujours dans le m\u00eame sens. C\u2019est pour \u00e7a que l\u2019on observe ces formes spirales plates. Le syst\u00e8me solaire met 225 millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es pour faire un tour complet. On verra aussi plus tard, que dans notre syst\u00e8me solaire aussi, les plan\u00e8tes tournent autour du Soleil, et toutes sur un m\u00eame plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">La classification des galaxies de Hubble cat\u00e9gorise les galaxies en fonction de leur apparence visuelle. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&rsquo;observation au t\u00e9lescope, chaque galaxie a une taille, une forme et une structure sp\u00e9cifiques. La morphologie d&rsquo;une galaxie est l&rsquo;essence de la classification des galaxies de Hubble.<br>Les trois classes des galaxies sont elliptiques, lenticulaires et spirales.<br>Les galaxies ne sont que de grandes accumulations d&rsquo;\u00e9toiles, de plan\u00e8tes et d&rsquo;autres restes solaires. Les astronomes estiment jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 100 milliards de galaxies dans l&rsquo;univers en expansion.<br>Nous observons les galaxies \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide des t\u00e9lescopes Kepler et Hubble. It is based on three exposures in ultra-violet, blue and red light, respectively. The colours of the different regions are well visible : the central areas contain older stars of reddish colour, while the spiral arms are populated by young, blue stars and many star-forming regions. Note the distorted companion galaxy on the left side, shaped like the greek letter \u00ab\u00a0theta\u00a0\u00bb. NGC 1232 is located 20\u00ba south of the celestial equator, in the constellation Eridanus (The River). The distance is about 100 million light-years, but the excellent optical quality of the VLT and FORS allows us to see an incredible wealth of details. At the indicated distance, the edge of the field shown corresponds to about 200,000 light-years, or about twice the size of the Milky Way galaxy. The image is a composite of three images taken behind three different filters: U (360 nm; 10 min), B (420 nm; 6 min) and R (600 nm; 2:30 min) during a period of 0.7 arcsec seeing. The field shown measures 6.8 x 6.8 arcmin.
